The 3rd Annual Skogman Golf Outing was held on September 17th at the Saddleback Ridge Golf Course in Solon and was another amazing success! After a heavy morning rain, the clouds parted just in time to see 30 four-person teams hit the links to support the Red Shamrock Foundation.

Between team entry fees, donations, silent and live auctions, the event raised over $23,400!

Registration is OPEN for our annual trail run!! It is the 5th year for this amazing event, and in honor of the landmark, we’ve given it a new name – The Survivorship Trail Challenge! We want people of all abilities, runners and walkers, to participate on the trails of Hickory Hill Park. Run or walk in solidarity with our survivors, or in memory of someone you have lost.

Ask any cancer survivor and you’ll find that 5 years in remission is a significant milestone. That especially holds true for the 80% of children diagnosed with cancer and have reached “5 years and clear” after treatment (source). That’s an amazing number, but the journey doesn’t end with remission. Cancer survivors need continuing care and the Red Shamrock Foundation wants to be a part of it. This race helps bring awareness to cancer survivorship and encourages healthy living through activity and being in the outdoors. (What a great way to stay true to your New Year’s resolutions of getting and staying in shape this year!)

The Survivorship Trail Challenge takes place at Hickory Hill Park on Saturday, April 2nd at 9:00 a.m.

Get registered and find more information at http://getmeregistered.com/SurvivorshipTrailRun.

We couldn’t put on the race without these wonderful sponsors!
